From secretariat@@@ September 27th,2014 We held the 15th HSC conference on
September 27th, 2014. Around 100 people, citizens and local
government staffs attended this conference. The special feature of 15th civil surveys
is Horikawa River's color, such as the big red tide
occurred in April, or the cloudy water state often seen from May to June. So, We had the experimentation to
replicate the cloudy water state in this meeting. According civil survey reports, Horikawa River water quality, which worsened once because
of the stop of TRWKR, has been improved little by little by Nagoya city's
measures implemented after the stop of TRWKR in March 2010. Nagoya city give the report of the
experimentation of the measure to Sludge between Gojobashi
Bridge and Nakabashi Bridge. This measure will be
installed this fiscal year. Participants had some requests to Nagoya
city, like "Place that experiment's signboard to understand easily on
the spot" or "Use mass media to spread the information to
public". Finally, they will keep civil eye on the
proceeding in one or two years with coordination and cooperation with Nagoya
city. Besides, Daido Univ. survey group reports
the water quality improvement test with high concentrated oxygen near Ukishimabashi Bridge on Shinhorikawa
river. This meeting focused on H2S which is the
causing factor of worsening warer quarity and bad smell in both Horikawa
river's report and Shinhorikawa river's. HSC meeting becomes more and more substitutional one through 15 times. These large scale, over 7 years and
steady civil survey activities, which has kept activities without shrinking
scale, cooperated with government and had a lot of meaningful results, is
seems to be unlike any other in Japan. We hope that all participants in HSC keep
in touch and have a proud and a confidence of your participating. |
